First-year GCU students are eager to take a mission trip to the early Americas.
Your Task : Select one author from Topic 2 and write a travel guide that will help prepare first-year students to undertake a mission trip with this author.
Create a 1,000-1,200-word travel guide. Your travel guide should explain the benefits of traveling with this author; your travel guide should also include suggestions for a smooth trip, things to watch out for, and ways to approach the authors and those they meet with the gospel message. Explain how students who go on the trip may use their modern cultural background to influence specific attitudes the author had toward native populations in their writings. Explain how the students’ Christian values will help them interact with the native populations in a loving and respectful way.
Describe how the historical, cultural, and political events of the author’s milieu impacted the type of writing they produced. Explain how the historical, cultural, and political events of our day may help the students view their experience differently than the author did in his era.
