I’m studying for my Music class and need an explanation.
- Read Chapter 9 covering the end of the Baroque period and composer G.F. Handel. There is one graded activity – a listening exercise covering the Hallelujah Chorus
- Read Chapter 10 covering the introduction to Classical Era style and composers Haydn and Mozart. There is one graded activity – the chapter 10 review quiz
- Read Chapter 11 covering Classical Era forms (ternary and sonata-allegro). There are two graded activities – a listening exercise covering Mozart’s Eine kleine nachtmusik, and the chapter 11 review quiz.
- Watch the three Keynote Video Lectures for this week – Baroque 7, Classical 1, and Classical 2. As always, these are in a folder in the “Course Documents” area of the Blackboard site.
- Read Chapter 12 covering two more Classical Era forms – Theme & Variations and Rondo. There is one graded activity – the chapter 12 review quiz.
- Read Chapter 13 covering Classical Era instrumental music. There are two graded activities – a listening exercise covering Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, and the chapter 13 review quiz.
- Watch the two Keynote Video Lectures for this week – Classical 3, and Classical 4. As always, these are in a folder in the “Course Documents” area of the Blackboard site.
- Listening Test 2 will occur during the week of October 5-9. It will follow the same format as the first listening test.
