Answer the following ques:
- Think about how people in the ancient world experienced the night. In what kinds of nocturnal behaviors would you expect ancient peoples to have engaged? What kinds of material evidence (artifacts, features, sites) could archaeologists expect to find that relates to the night?
- How did we as a species evolve with dark nights? What types of biological aspects of Homo sapiens and our ancestors are tied in to the night?
- Why is it important for us modern humans to be aware that the night is disappearing? What are the problems if we cannot see the stars and planets? What are the compelling reasons to preserve the darkness of the night? You can answer this question by drawing on your own experience and the information you learned from the International Dark Sky Association (IDA).
- How can we preserve the darkness of modern nights? What steps can you take to reduce your “nocturnal footprint”
