1)Use the information from Freud’s psychoanalytic theory of sexual development and discuss your understanding of effective family sexuality communication between parents and their school-aged children. What MFT model could you utilize to assist parents and their children in clearly communicating around these issues in a developmental appropriate way? Offer an example.
2)Cottone & Tarvydas (2016) discuss values as it relates to practicing psychotherapy. Our values as a MFT may vary with our client. In thinking about the client’s presenting sexual concerns how does a MFT value their own perspectives and at the same time work with a client with different sexual values than one’s self?
